Murano

SCOPE OF WORK

Formal Sitting + Primary Suite

CLIENT REQUESTS

Romantic, textural, moody, calm

Project Murano was designed with romance as its leading character. As you step inside the formal living space, you feel as if you have entered the greenest forest and sun rays are peaking through the tall trees. The large stone fireplace was brought back to life through the use of Farrow and Ball paint in color Dimity, and wrapped in custom floor to ceiling built ins that show off the beautifully aged unlacquered brass hardware. Set as its counterpart, the vintage bookshelf across the room, was given velvet wallpaper sourced from none other then Morris and Co.

The formal sitting was organically split in two, to allow for intimate conversations and cozy sitting through the use of a vintage mohair sofa, shearling accent chairs (Crate and Barrel by Athena Caldrone) and a custom made coffee table. Following the earth tones of the formal sitting room, we decided to head deeper into the forest by turning up the moodiness of the primary suite. We chose to color drench this room in London Stone by Farrow and Ball and matching wall to wall carpet. The room is set ablaze with custom upholstery in the bay window and wrapped in Italian linen drapes by Dream House Interiors. The closets received reclaimed wood doors sourced from a 150 year old barn. We added sweet moments of vintage decor and plaster sconces to keep the room feeling light and playful.
